Manpower Strategy Session
Mr. Lim Soon Tein, Chairman of Cloud & Data Chapter, SGTech
On 25 May, SGTech’s Cloud & Data Chapter hosted a sharing and networking session on manpower support initiatives between IMDA, Workforce Singapore and the industry. Chairman of Cloud & Data Chapter, Mr. Lim Soon Tein, addressed the audience and gave an overview of SGTech as well as the Chapter’s directions ahead.
Speakers include Mr. Adrian Ong, Director, TeSA Programme Office, IMDA; Mr. William Lim, Senior Manager, PMax Place & Train Programme for SMEs, Singapore Productivity Association, and Mr. Hector Lin, Business Development Director, JobKred. Mr Yeo Zhihan, Head of Capability & Capacity Development at SGTech, shared on available manpower support initiatives which the industry can benefit from.
Options to Enhance Manpwoer Strategy:
1. TeSA (TechSkills Acceletator)
Tesa is a SkillsFuture initiative driven by IMDA, in collaboration with strategic partners such as Workforce Singapore. IMDA gave an overview of the suite of programmes under TeSA, where SGTech is supporting as well.
The programme managed by the Singapore Productivity Association and supported by Workforce Singapore, aims to facilitate the hiring of PMETs across SMEs.
3. talentguru & Structured Internship Programme
SGTech drives the talentguru platform jointly with partner JobKred. talentguru launched in July 2017 and is free to use for SGTech members. Additionally, SGTech offers the Structured Internship Programme that offers member companies access to young talent and mentorship guidance.
SGTech strives to help companies improve manpower strategy by tapping on available programmes, initiatives and funding by the Government and our in-house platform.
