Go International: High-Growth Potentials for Vietnam’s ICT Sector
The Go International webinar series aims to help fellow ICT companies learn about navigating different territories. In this session, SGTech has invited Orissa International and Tech JDI to present an overview of the Vietnam market, opportunities in the ICT sector and various market entry options for Singapore companies, as well as insights and strategies for building remote tech teams in Vietnam. There was also an experience sharing by NashTech from an IT practitioner’s perspective.
Ms Thao Pham, Country Manager of Orissa International, Vietnam, presented the opportunities in the ICT sectors such as in public and private sector organisations, retail, manufacturing and smart cities.
She presented that many MNCs in Vietnam are implementing data analytics solutions. For smaller SMEs, many are deploying cloud computing in their businesses to enhance their organisational agility and increases competitiveness. Application of AI in companies has also increased with the boom of e-commerce in Vietnam.
Mr Frank Lee, Managing Director of Tech JDI, presented the different approaches and operational models to building a remote tech team in Vietnam, such as outsourcing and offshoring. He also provided a detailed comparison of tech talent costs between Singapore and Vietnam and a list of success factors to managing the local teams in Vietnam.
To conclude the webinar, Mr Subhash Raghavendra, Vice President & Country Manager, Singapore at NashTech, shared their experience as an IT practitioner in Vietnam. He shared the key success parameters to drive strong local partnerships for companies entering Vietnam and support the company’s long-term business objectives.
